About the event
On Tuesday, October 3rd at 5:30 PM, the City of Norwalk, in partnership with Norwalk Public Schools and local and state organizations, invites residents to a Community Cannabis Forum in the community room of City Hall.
The Community Cannabis Forum aims to provide residents with an informative discussion about the upcoming cannabis retail dispensaries opening up in Norwalk later this year and next year and how the City, Norwalk Public Schools and local and state partners will be working together to promote responsible cannabis use and putting the health and well-being of the community first.
Panelists will discuss safe and responsible cannabis use, educating our youth about the risks of cannabis, community efforts to promote safe handling of cannabis, how the dispensaries will be emphasizing safety and more. The community will also have the opportunity to ask questions and interact with the panelists.
Panelists will include Mayor Rilling, Steve Kleppin, Director of Planning and Zoning for the City of Norwalk, Ryan Harold, District Safety & Security Supervisor of Operations at Norwalk Public Schools, Norwalk Police Chief Jim Walsh, Margaret Watt, Prevention Director at Positive Directions & leadership member of The Norwalk Partnership, Denique Weidema-Lewis, Behavioral Health Program Manager at the CT Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services in the Prevention and Health Promotion Division, Michael LaFrieda, the Chief Operating Office for Shangri-La, a dispensary opening in Norwalk, and Dennis So, the Director of Retail Operations at Fine Fettle, a dispensary opening up in Norwalk.
