THC Drinks update

On Wednesday, the last day of the legislative session, the General Assembly passed House Bill 5150, An Act Concerning Cannabis and Hemp Regulation. Among other things, the bill creates and regulates a product category for THC-infused beverages. These beverages will only be able to be sold at licensed cannabis retailers and licensed package stores, closing the supposed loophole that has made them available at grocery stores and other locations. (See prior blog post here.) The bill also specifies that a 12 oz can must be considered a single serving and may contain no more than 3 mg THC. It also provides for product testing, packaging, and labeling.

In other cannabis news, CADCA has put out an action alert for those interested in providing input into the federal regulations related to hemp. The Farm Bill will be taken up by Congress on May 23rd. To learn more and/or send an editable message, visit this page.
