5th annual NorWALK for Mental Health: Walk + Wellness Fair! 



Spread the word! Bring your friends & connect with your community at our FIFTH annual NorWALK for Mental Health event--bigger & better than ever!


Join us on May 2 at the Norwalk Green from 10:00 AM to 1:30 PM for a free, family-friendly event featuring a DJ, bouncy houses, a huge wellness fair featuring 75+ community organizations, a Joy Corner with 10-minute activities (yoga, zumba, sound bath, etc.) throughout the day, lawn games & a limbo contest, an awareness walk, and community speakers. Bring your family & grab lunch from the food trucks while visiting the fair! Rain date: May 9, same time and place.


Implementing the Youth Priority Plan


In March we reported out on the Community Priority Planning Process to develop a vision and strategic plan for youth mental wellbeing in Norwalk... and now it's time to start implementing the plan! All are invited -- this is systems change work that truly takes a village. We're kicking things off at the Social-Emotional Health Initiative meeting next Thursday, April 30th at City Hall from 10am-11:30am. RSVP here



Youth Voices: Youth Panel Discussion with Cannabis


Hop online on Thursday, May 21 from 7-8pm for "Clear Minds, Bright Futures"-- a panel discussion with members of the Regional Youth Team, organized by Positive Directions as part of their Mid-Fairfield Youth Cannabis Prevention Project. Teens from Norwalk, Wilton & Westport will share their perspectives, experiences and recommendations focusing on cannabis awareness with their peers over the school year. Free Youth Mental Health First Aid Training


YMHFA is an evidence-based certification course designed for adults who work with youth, providing tools to recognize and support teens experiencing early or severe mental health challenges. The training involves 2 hours of online pre-work (at your own convenience), followed by an in-person day which will take place on Wednesday, May 6 at Comstock Community Center in Wilton. Offered free of charge through a collaboration between Positive Directions and Catalyst CT | The Hub. Space is limited to 30 participants. Register here 

FREE Suicide Prevention Training


A free Question-Persuade-Refer (QPR) suicide Prevention lunch & learn will take place on May 8, 2026 from 12:30 PM to 2:00 PM at Positive Directions, 90 Post Rd West in Westport. This evidence-based training, open to anyone ages 16+, focuses on teaching participants how to recognize warning signs, start meaningful conversations, and connect someone to the help they need. The session includes videos, a guided presentation, and interactive group role play to build confidence in responding to real-life situations. Bring your lunch! Coffee & snacks will be provided.
