Public hearing on legalizing marijuana in CT

PUBLIC HEARING BEFORE THE JUDICIARY COMMITTEE,

CT GENERAL ASSEMBLY, FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 26, 20221


SUBJECT MATTER: Cannabis

S.B. No. 888 AN ACT RESPONSIBLY AND EQUITABLY REGULATING ADULT-USE CANNABIS.


The Judiciary Committee will hold a public hearing on Friday, February 26 beginning at 10:00 A.M. via Zoom. The public hearing can be viewed via YouTube Live. In addition, the public hearing may be recorded and broadcast live on CT-N.com.

  • TO TESTIFY VIA ZOOM: Register using the On-line Testimony Registration Form. NB: Registration will close on February 25, 2021 at 3:00 P.M. Within 24 hours, you will receive an email with a unique link for you to access the Zoom. Speaker order will be posted on the Judiciary Committee website on February 26, 2021 at 8:00 A.M. under Public Hearing Testimony. If you cannot testify during your time slot, you can use the Cancel button in the email you receive. You will be limited to 3 minutes of oral testimony. You are encouraged to also submit your remarks in writing.

  • TO TESTIFY BY PHONE: Call the Phone Registrant Line at (860) 240-5255 to leave your contact information.

  • TO TESTIFY IN WRITING: Email written testimony in Word or PDF format to Judtestimony@cga.ct.gov. The subject line of your email as well as your written testimony should clearly state your name and the bill you are testifying on.

  • BEGIN YOUR TESTIMONY (written or oral) as follows: “Co-Chair Winfield, Co-Chair Stafstrom and distinguished members of the Judiciary Committee, my name is _________ and I'm a resident of ___________. I'm here to [testify in favor of / testify against / raise concerns regarding] Senate Bill 888.”

Note: All public hearing testimony, written and spoken, is public information. As such, it will be made available on the CGA website and indexed by internet search engines.
