About the event

Calling all 9th graders and their parents! Freshman year is a big transition, and it can be stressful. How should teens manage their mental health? How common are risky behaviors like drinking, vaping, and marijuana use? Norwalk's first-ever Freshman Forum will provide information, messaging, and resources for kids and parents.

Watch videos by upperclass students sharing advice; meet the mental health counselors that are available at school, hear what freshmen reported in our 2022 Norwalk Youth Survey; learn critical information about vaping and marijuana, and get ideas and resources to open up communication in families. There will be a resource fair along with brief talks by local experts, in English and Spanish. This is an evening you don't want to miss! Organized by The Norwalk Partnership (TNP) in collaboration with Norwalk Public Schools.

About us: TNP is Norwalk's community coalition dedicated to preventing substance misuse and promoting mental wellness in our teens and young adults.  We welcome community members to join our coalition to strengthen our youth. Students can also join our Norwalk Strong clubs at each high school! Contact Dayna for more info: dmacari@positivedirections.org
